Desperately seeking Susan?
Well….if Susan was the name of a phenomenal drummer, then YES!….I am seeking her!
On a serious note though. Regardless of how much you think you appreciate someone, you never realize how much you actually do until you are faced with the challenge of losing them for a time.
Yes, you tell them you appreciate them. You tell them “good job” and get them things to say “thanks….” but it is not until the reality sets in that you may miss the little things that make them the person they are, that it truly hits home.
Now for the explanation….Ryan, our drummer at the church has been an absolute machine for the last 2 years, missing only 2 services that I can remember. One for his honeymoon and one when he was sick. Well, understandably so, Ryan needs a break and needs to step away for a bit. I am gonna miss him, the team is gonna miss him and the church is gonna miss him banging away and keeping me in time on Sunday mornings!
So I said all that to say simply this…..appreciate the people around you that help you do what it is you do. Tell them you appreciate them, show them you appreciate them and tell others how much you appreciate them!
Make it a point to do it this week!
