The Proof of Desire is in the Persuit
I remember hearing a Preacher once tell a story about when he walked into a church one time and heard a guy playing the piano. He said the guy played with amazing elegance and passion. He listened for a little while and then approached the guy and said to him, “wow….you truly are gifted! I wish I could play like that……”
The guy looked up and thanked him, and they chatted for a few minutes. After the Preacher walked away, God checked his heart and asked him, “….are you sure you want to play the piano like that guy?”
“Yes…” the Preacher quickly responded.
“Then why don’t you practice? Why don’t you spend time working on it? Why aren’t you chasing after it if you truly desire it?” God asked.
The Preacher had no answer other than, “….I guess I really DON’T want to play the piano like him…..”
What are your desires? What are the things you want the most?
Are you sitting around wishing you could do something, or are you chasing it with everything you have?
Are you relentless in your persuit, or are you lazy and stubborn?
Food for thought.
